ROPES is an abbreviation for Rights of Passage Experiences. It's a year long program concluded by a 5 nights 6 days long camp that is designed to assist in transition from childhood into young adulthood.
ROPEs was developed with intention of giving our young people a guided transition from childhood to adulthood. Just like the cultural practices that was common in the olden days, but declined with civilization and urbanization. ROPEs program ensures that the growth and development of our young people today is not left to chance.
■Below are areas of growth in our young people that are addressed
1. From Asexuality to sexuality – Feelings and emotions
2. From group relationships to single relationships – Social interructions, ability to relate
3. Family identity to self identity – Intense questioning of ideas & values and this shows through rebellion against authority and tradition
4.From selfishness to love – Self acceptance & accepting others as they are.
5. Dependence to Independence – Initiative, proactivity
6. Parental Discipline to Self discipline – Becoming responsible
7. From conscience to value system – Superimposed values by the parents or society are bought by the teenie
8. From religion to a relationship with God – Ownership of faith
■How ROPEs program works
Since most of our children are in boarding schools their classes are planned during school holidays. The syllabus focuses on these areas of development throughout the year then re-enforce them during camp. With Emphasis on the following :

■At the end of the ROPES program your teen will graduate with the following qualities among others :

2.They submit to authority
3.They have a healthy view of themselves
